Mini's highly anticipated crossover has been spotted under camouflage during testing in Germany. Draped in a yellow camouflage outfit, the crossover still looks distinctively Mini.
The Mini crossover, prematurely dubbed the "Crossman," has not been given an official name yet. The latest speculation is that it will be named "Maxi," sharing a name with a 1960s British Leyland five-door hatch that share common features with a Mini project.
Expected as a 2010 model, the crossover will be built on an AWD platform and should share the same powertrain options as the Mini Cooper and Clubman models. Worldwide sales of the crossover are expected to reach 80,000 units per year, and production will be outsourced to independent vehicle manufacturer Magna Steyr.
