This year's big-ticket item at the SEMA Show Silent Auction was a 2009 Ford Flex tricked out by the renowned customizers at West Coast Customs. WCC added 24-in. Asanti wheels and tires, upper and lower grilles from Street Scene Equipment, and custom graphics and paint to the exterior of Ford's new crossover. On the inside, Polk Audio equipment was added, along with a Roadwire leather interior. Stillen brake rotors were added behind the wheels to enhance appearance and stopping performance.

The winning bid for the Flex was $38,200, which will go toward the SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund. The fund provides financial support for students who are actively pursuing careers in the automotive and specialty-equipment industries. The Silent Auction, managed by SEMA's Young Executives Network, raises money annually for the Memorial Scholarship Fund and has contributed nearly $1 million since 1993. The total amount of money raised through the 2008 SEMA Show Silent Auction will be available to the public soon.

The buildup of the 2009 Ford Flex will be featured in an episode of the TV show "Street Customs," shown on the Learning Channel.
