Coming from the world's second largest pickup truck market is a workhorse concept of Ford's Ranger pickup truck. Officially called the Ford Ranger Max Concept, the Ranger made its debut at the recently held Thailand Motor Expo. The Ranger features a bold and muscular exterior with an orange paint job and matte black accents. The exterior design is intended to resemble the design and coloration of modern power tools, while exuding an image of durability and functionality.

Ford's Thailand team worked closely with Ford's Australia-based Asia Pacific and Africa design team to design the Ranger Max Concept. The Ranger sits on 18-in. deep-dish, six-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in 285-size tires. An exclusive Ranger Max sports bar attaches to the pickup truck bed and arches across the pickup. Side-mirror-mounted turn signals also make their presence felt on the truck concept, while the raised "power dome" hood gives the appearance of a brute powerplant. A "power dome" is also present on the truck's tonneau cover. Power specifications are currently unknown for the concept.

While the Ford Ranger Max Concept is visually impressive, the truck will also be about business, and showcases the Ranger's potential. According to Ford Thailand's senior vice president Saroj Kiatfuengfoo, "The Ranger Max is not just about creating show excitement. We have a great opportunity to test design themes that will make their way into production. Ranger Max says exciting things about what's coming for truck fans in Ranger's future."
