The 2008 desert racing season was a big year for Team Hummer, as a sweep of the stock classes in the Best in the Desert Racing Association's FabTech Desert Classic on December 6 secured Hummer's victory and sealed their place in history.
The stock full SUV class was secured by Chad Hall in the H3 Alpha, while brother Josh Hall finished on top of the stock full truck class in the H2 SUT. Rod Hall, who was the victor in the SCORE International stock mini class, earned his fifth BITD stock mini class victory with his H3. Team Hummer is the first team in history to sweep the stock class championships in both SCORE and BITD in a single season.
Notably, a Hummer was the first stock class vehicle to finish in eight of 10 races in 2008, including the Baja 500 and Baja 1000.
