The redesigned 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 gathered another award and was named the "Best Pickup Truck" by MotorWeek. This is the third time the Dodge Ram has won the Drivers' Choice Award from MotorWeek, as the Dodge full-size pickup also won the honors in 1994 and 2002, when the first- and second-generation trucks were launched.
According to John Davis, host and executive producer of MotorWeek, the Ram won top honors because it is "aimed directly at personal use buyers" and includes "clever features like RamBox siderail storage bins." Other features attributing to the Ram's victory include the coil-spring rear suspension, revised interior, and HEMI power.
Truck Trend's SUV of the Year, the 2009 Subaru Forester, also added another accolade to its trophy chest by winning the "Best Small SUV" Drivers' Choice Award from MotorWeek. The 2009 Honda Pilot acquired the "Best Large SUV" award.
