If gas prices decide to balloon again this coming summer, the all-new 2010 Lexus RX 450h will be coming out just in time. With the 2010 RX 350 already roaming public streets here in the U.S., and the RX 450h coming soon, Lexus' newest crossover SUVs will make a huge impact on the hybrid SUV scene.

Of course, the new RX 450h is highlighted by its new technology. A new 295-hp Atkinson-cycle 3.5L V-6 with cooled exhaust gas recirculation and exhaust heat recovery technology grabs attention. A new power control unit helps cooling to increase performance and reduce fuel consumption. The improved ECVT with Artificial Intelligence AI-SHIFT control features three driving modes for increased efficiency: ECO, EV, and SNOW.

While the RX 450h has been covered well since it made news at the 2008 Los Angeles auto show a couple months ago, official mpg ratings were not released during its debut. To recap, the FWD RX 450h is rated to 28 city/27 highway, and the AWD version is measured at 28 city/26 highway.
