Fresh off their back-to-back international debuts, BMW has released U.S. retail pricing for its M division's latest performance rides, the X5 M and X6 M. And as you probably already guessed, they don't come cheap. Base price for the X5 M starts at $86,225, while the X6 M commands an $89,725 price tag. Both prices include an $825 destination and handling charge.

Under the hood of both models resides a 555-hp twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8 that has been heavily modified for serious M duty. With turbos at full spooling, the motor cranks out an equally impressive 505 lb-ft of torque. Engineers claim both SUV's can hit 60 mph in around 4.5 sec, but we'll be sure to double check once we get our hands on them. Keeping all the power on the road is brand's most recent xDrive all-wheel drive layout and Integrated Chassis Management system.

Look for BMW's meanest crossovers to hit U.S. streets this fall as MY2010 vehicles.

The 2010 BMW X6 ActiveHybrid has been spotted with very little camouflage on, indicating it's nearly ready to go.
Dial M for...Crossover? Since the X5's introduction in 2000, BMW's M division has refused to tune any of the brand's SUVs.
