Last month, we reported that due to the current economic climate, the BFGoodrich Tires Outstanding Trails program has selected just two trails this year to receive designation as an "Outstanding Trail." This past Saturday (May 23), the Barnwell Mountain Recreation Area in Texas was officially recognized as a 2009 Outstanding Trail because it provides riding opportunities for many skills levels on varied terrain, including rock, dirt, mud, and hills.

In recognition of the Barnwell Mountain Recreation Area, which is located five miles north of Gilmer, Texas, BFGoodrich awarded a $4000 grant to the Texas Motorized Trails Coalition in front of more than 100 off-road enthusiasts and members of the TMTC. The grant will be used to preserve the trail system and continue conservation efforts within the off-road area.

The remaining trail to be recognized for 2009 is the Fordyce Creek Trail, located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. This area will be recognized on August 8.
