Last year, Ford introduced its SFE (Superior Fuel Economy) package for 2009 F-150 4x2 XL and XLT models in response to the high fuel prices that had Main Street cringing at every gas station stop. With prices at the pump having cratered (but on the rise again) since the summer highs of $4+/gallon, the 2010 F-150 will spurn the SFE label for upcoming 2WD F-150 trucks equipped with the 4.6-liter, three-valve V-8, but retain the slightly higher fuel economy of 15 city/21 highway. Ford's 4.6-liter, three-valve V-8 comes with 292 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque.

With Ford reporting May sales of F-Series trucks up 16 percent compared to April (33,381 versus 28,757), the Dearborn-based manufacturer is looking to its best-selling truck to continue providing good news.
