Chrysler shut down all of its plants during its bankruptcy proceedings, and the tiny Conner Avenue Assembly plant that builds the Viper sports car was the first to come back online. Now, Chrysler is beginning the next phase of its production ramp-up by activating seven more assembly plants, as well as the stamping and powertrain plants that support those assembly plants. They'll all resume production in less than two weeks. The restart of all other Chrysler plants will be announced later. All of the plants will still have their customary two-week break during the weeks of July 13 and July 20.

The restarted assembly plants include:

-- Sterling Heights Assembly Plant (Sterling Heights, Mich.) - Chrysler Sebring and Dodge Avenger

-- Warren Truck Assembly Plant (Warren, Mich.) - Dodge Ram and Dodge Dakota

-- St. Louis North Assembly Plant (Fenton, Mo.) - Dodge Ram

-- Toledo Supplier Park (Toledo, Ohio) - Jeep(r) Wrangler and Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

-- Brampton Assembly Plant (Brampton, Ontario, Canada) - Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger and Challenger

-- Windsor Assembly Plant (Windsor, Ontario, Canada ) - Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan

-- Toluca Assembly Plant (Toluca, Mexico) - Dodge Journey and Chrysler PT Cruiser
