China's Budding Off-Road Scene Likes Jeep Wrangler, Toyota Land Cruiser, FJ Cruiser Best

June 22, 2009
By Benson Kong

SEMA, ever mindful of the developing consumer trends in China, has identified that the most popular vehicles to customize across the Pacific are the Jeep Wrangler, Toyota Land Cruiser, and Toyota FJ Cruiser. The importance of imported SUVs cannot be understated, as most consumers who purchase the vehicles tend to modify them, and the presence of U.S. SUVs has increased by more than 50 percent from 2007 to 2008. The most popular aftermarket equipment for Chinese off-road enthusiasts includes suspension lift kits, front grille bars, tires and wheels, and headlights. The most sought-after brands include Warn, Pro Comp, Rancho, ARB, TJM, Hella, IPF, and BFGoodrich.

Seems like they're crazy for the Land Cruiser in the Middle East. You'd think with all the dunes over there, there would be greater demand for sandrails, but I hardly ever hear anything about them over there.
