Production of the 2011 Ford Explorer has been delayed until at least September 2010, according to sources at Left Lane News. The newly redesigned Ford SUV was originally scheduled to enter production in July 2010 at Ford's Torrance Avenue plant in Chicago. With the current Explorer sporting an 8-year-old design (there was a refresh in 2006), a new model is overdue. The latest Explorer will feature the SUV's first unibody construction.
---UPDATE---June 26, 2009---
According to Left Lane News, Ford spokesman Jay Ward has said the new Ford Explorer is not being delayed in any manner.
