Subaru has recalled its model-year 2005 and 2006 Baja models to fix a fuel leak at the fuel pump. Meanwhile, Accessible Vans & Mobility has recalled its model-year 2006 Ford E-250 vans equipped with wheelchair lifts to fix a sensor that could cause the lift to move when a wheelchair is not properly positioned or secured.

Subaru of America is recalling 15,633 model-year 2005 and 2006 Subaru Bajas to replace a fuel pump bracket and nipple that have been cracking and causing fuel leaks on the outlet side of the fuel pump. A fuel leak can hurt engine performance and fuel economy and if an ignition source is present, could cause a fire. Subaru will replace the bracket and nipple free of charge starting in September 2009 under NHTSA Recall ID No. 09V277000.

Accessible Vans & Mobility, an after-market company that outfits large vans with wheelchair lifts and other accommodations, is recalling all of its 2006 model-year Ford E-250 vans that have been equipped with a Rincon platform-style wheelchair lift to fix a defective sensor. The sensor may not detect the presence of a wheelchair within the defined threshold area, allowing the lift to move when a wheelchair is present but not in position or not secured. This could result in injury to the occupant of the wheelchair. Accessible Vans & Mobility is working with the lift manufacturer Rincon to correct the problem and will repair all affected vans free of charge under NHTSA Recall ID No. 09V276000.
