It seems more electric work trucks are taking to the streets than ever before, and with 2010 right around the corner, Global Green Cars is preparing to throw its offering into the increasingly competitive field. GGC's 2010 G-3 plug-in electric truck will offer a working payload of 1000 pounds, a top speed of over 85 mph, and a range of 100 miles between charges on its advanced nickel-based batteries. The G-3's batteries are reportedly safer than lithium-based alternatives and will cost about $1 for a full recharge. Crash testing is expected to start January 2, with production to begin in late spring or early summer 2010. Prices should be about $25,000, which does not factor any federal or state incentives for the purchase of an alternatively-fueled vehicle.

The G-3 was showcased at the Rocky Mountain Raceway in Utah this past weekend, where it worked as the lead pace car over a three-hour period without recharging. GGC will soon be holding public demos of the G-3 across the nation; the truck's next scheduled stop is in Kentucky.

1.  Batteries will become more efficient on the whole and their price will drop, whereas  the oil will simply go up and up as it becomes more scarce. As simple as that.

2.  The range of noticeable EVs are sufficient to meet the daily driving needs of  more than 95% of drivers  ((The vast majority of people (95%) drive less than 100/km a day, 82% of the respondents said they drive 40 miles or less a day, with an average daily driving distance of 27 miles.)).

3.  I'm hopeful that the charge network will extend the select districts to nation-wide scale throughout the world, and this environment can usher in active private investings in EVs.

4.  I remain confident that it could give rise to multiple times as much investing effect, so to speak, some billions of investing, this simple deployment, could call into the most-sought energy independence and solid recovery around the world.
