Kelley Blue Book recently predicted that the Jeep brand’s resale value would improve 2.8 percent for 2010 -- one of only two brands to post an increase next year and tops among all domestic brands. Despite its admittedly narrow lineup, Jeep buyers remain dedicated to their brand, and the icon that is Jeep.
“We are pleased that the Jeep brand has been recognized by
Kelley Blue Book for earning the highest resale value among domestic brands, and that Jeep has improved significantly in a difficult year that has seen the industry decline,” said Mike Manley, president and CEO of the Jeep brand. “The Jeep brand’s high resale value is a testament to a legendary, iconic brand that provides consumers an array of SUVs that deliver a unique blend of freedom and adventure, capability, best-in-class claims and value.”
According to the study, the 2.8-percent-increase in residual value indicates new 2010 Jeeps will still retain 35.7 percent of their original retail value after five years of ownership, a total that is more than 3 percent higher than the industry average. As a whole, the industry average declined 1.6 percent for 2010.
The current Jeep lineup features, in ascending segment size, the Compass, Patriot, Liberty, Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, and Commander.
