The long saga that has been GM's attempt to sell Hummer hasn't ended yet, but production at the Shreveport, Louisiana, plant will be stayed indefinitely beginning January 19. The Shreveport location currently employs 700 employees and builds the Hummer H3, H3T, Chevrolet Colorado, and GMC Canyon. According to Hummer spokesman Nick Richards, there is "sufficient inventory in the field" to allow the plant to idle until the Hummer brand is sold China's Sichuan Tengzhong. The sale is expected to close early this year.
