Two years ago,
Conquest Vehicles unveiled its Knight XV, an armored, biofuel-powered SUV that is designed to handle the apocalypse in luxury, or to go to the convenience store in the worst part of town. Now, over 60 new security and luxury upgrades and options have been added to appease even the most discerning Mad Max imitator.
New options include a turbo kit, a commercial-grade multi-link air-ride suspension system, a high-performance front brake system with 15.5-inch rotors and 12-pot calipers, and a 24-inch vehicle extension package, so you can fit all your friends and family. Right-hand drive conversion is also now available, along with a carbon-fiber instrument panel and more.
Standard fare includes luxurious appointments such as hand-crafted billet-aluminum, leather steering wheel, and ultra-suede seating. An electrostatic window tinting system keeps the paparazzi away while a built-in oxygen survival kit, under-vehicle magnetic attachment detection system, and under-vehicle blast protection protects against bombs, IEDs, and other bodily threats. An onboard black-box system constantly has the record button on and multiple layers of armor help push the Knight XV’s weight to 12,000 pounds.
Sitting beneath the hood is a 6.8-liter V-10 capable of running on biofuel. While the ten cylinders combine for 400 horsepower and 498 pound-feet of torque (without the optional turbo), you can bet it takes a while to get to 60 mph. At least you will be protected as you move along.
