Anyone familiar with the new Ram 1500 Outdoorsman truck might not be surprised that the truck brand is sponsoring professional tournament bass angler and Chrysler Group engineer Ryan Said.

Ram selected the 2010 Bassmaster Northern Open points champion as its sponsored competitor. Said's boat will feature Ram Truck graphics and will be towed by a Ram Outdoorsman truck, though there's no word on Ram entering the boating market.

"Bass anglers are passionate about their trucks," said Fred Diaz, Ram Truck Brand President and CEO. "They demand unsurpassed capability and proven reliability. They're also very loyal to their sponsor. The introduction of the new Ram Outdoorsman and Ram's sponsorship of Ryan Said are two of the ways we're sharing our passion for the sport and connecting with anglers like ourselves."

The shared passion is more than just marketing claims -- Ram says that more than 40 percent of Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500 owners call fishing their top hobby. Said will compete this year in the Bassmaster Classic and Elite Series for the first time, while the Ram Outdoorsman competes mainly with the Chevrolet Silverado and Ford F-Series trucks.
