Oettinger is a well-known company in the Volkswagen aftermarket scene, but is entering unexplored territory with the release of the company's new Amarok pickup. The performance package the tuner offers for the truck's 2.0-liter turbodiesel boosts horsepower up to a total of 190, and and additional 37 pound-feet of torque, bringing the twist total up to 332 pound-feet.

In this day and age of 800 pound-feet beasts from Ford and Dodge, that may not sound like much, but keep in mind the humble mill under the hood of the Amarok is less than one-third the size of those bruisers, and scaling up the displacement proportionally, the output would approach 1000 pound feet!

Unfortunately, VW's handsome midsize hauler is not sold in the U.S., so we'll just have to take Oettinger's word for the improved performance. If you happen to be in South America, Europe, Australia, or one of the other markets where the truck is sold, the tuning package is available for a little over 1000 euros, or about $1500 U.S.
