Starting this fall, Wal-Mart's trademark rollback pricing will be accompanied by a not so familiar pair of advertisers: Ram trucks and its partner Mossy Oak camouflage. In addition to the typical household products and groceries carried at the big-box bargain store, outdoor gear is also a top seller at Wal-Mart.
"We recognize the alignment between truck buyers, the hunting/fishing lifestyle and Wal-Mart," said Marissa Hunter, head of Ram advertising during a Web chat with journalists that took place a few weeks ago. "We are working on promotion that brings all three together."
Hunter also announced the continuation of Ram's "Code of the West" ad campaign with two new commercials narrated by actor Sam Elliot.
"The role of these spots is twofold. First, continue to create overall awareness about the capability of the full Ram lineup. Second, do so in a manner that inspires consumers to think differently about the Ram Truck brand."
