The Street and Racing Technology team over at Chrysler have been busy churning out new products powered by a new and more powerful 6.4-liter V-8-engine. The Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 is one of those vehicles and it appears that it may share the stage with an even larger SUV.
Our friends over at Automobile are reporting that the Street and Racing Technology team has put the Durango back on the discussion table, which would make it the largest vehicle to receive SRT8 treatment. In theory, an SRT8 Durango shouldn't be too complicated to produce since it's platform mates with the Grand Cherokee and would simply get the 6.4-liter V-8-engine (tuned to 470 hp in the GC) stuffed under other SRT8s. As it stands, the Durango R/T with a 5.7-liter Hemi, 360-hp, V-8 is the fastest variant available.
What are your thoughts? Should a Dodge Durango SRT8 get the green light? Or is a three-row SUV with nearly 500 horsepower just too ridiculous? Sound off below and make sure to get more details over at Automobile.
