Land Rover previewed what the next-generation Defender could look like with its DC100 and DC100 Sport concepts at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Now in preparation for the Los Angeles Auto Show this week, the duo have been updated with some new accessories and a fresh coat of paint.
Updates to the cars are minor and -- appropriately for California -- beach-related. The DC100 gets raised air suspension, a new roof rack, and an intake snorkel for wading through deep water. It's also now dressed in Heritage Blue paint with a Candy Weiss white roof The DC100 Sport continues on with no changes to its open-top beachcomber looks and yellow paint job.
Land Rover is using the DC100 concepts to help gauge public reaction in the U.S. If it gets a positive review from L.A. show goers, it could herald the return of the Defender to our shores once the second-generation model makes its debut in 2015.
