Next month General Motors will take the wraps off its all-new small Buick crossover at the Detroit Auto Show. GM spokeswoman, Stephanie Rice told the Detroit Free Press that the new crossover will be unveiled at a press conference January 10. The new model may be called the Encore when it goes on sale likely as a 2013 model.

The new Buick adds one more name to the four car list the General previously announced will debut in Motor City. Previously, the automaker announced the all-new Cadillac ATS compact sedan aimed at the BMW 3-sereies. Also rumored to be on GM's stand is the Chevrolet Sonic RS -- the hot hatch version of the only sub-compact car currently assembled in the U.S.

No word whether the Sonic RS counts as one of the four cars the automaker was referring to. The Detroit Free Press also indicated that GM will show two new Chevrolet concepts designed at its Southern California design center on January 9.
