Tacoma Receives Some Changes For 201

The front end of the 2012 Toyota Tacoma has been redesigned, with a new grille, foglamps, headlights, and bumpers. Two tow hooks are now standard on all models, and there are two new colors -- Spruce Mica and Nautical Blue Metallic. The TRD Sport package is now offered with side mirrors that have integrated turn signal lamps, plus optional 18-inch chrome five-spoke wheels.

Big changes happen on the inside, too: The updated interior includes a redesigned instrument panel with a new gauge cluster; redesigned center stack with updated heat/vent/air-conditioning controls; and new steering wheel on some models. New options include heavy-duty all-weather flooring on Access Cab and Double Cab models, waterproof fabric on some trucks, new standard and optional stereos, and navigation and Entune infotainment system offered with the Double Cab V-6. Toyota hasn't announced any powertrain changes, but we'd anticipate something like that may soon follow this styling update.

what makes you guys think there is a power upgrade coming?   Your site is the only one making that assumption.  I hope you are right.. but I fear that you are wrong.

With Ford blocking the new Ranger truck from the U.S. like they're blocking their sporty Fiesta coupe from the U.S, Chrysler ending its compact Dakota, and GM still on the fence whether to give the U.S. the new Colorado available elsewhere, I'm glad Toyota, Nissan, and Honda haven't abandoned the U.S. This Tacoma doesn't look much different than the previous model.  I understand a complete re-do is in the works.
