Last month Honda showed the concept version of the Acura RDX at the Detroit Auto Show, this month the Japanese automaker will debut the completely redesigned 2013 Acura RDX at the Chicago Auto Show.

The 2013 Acura RDX gets redesigned one year after the Honda CR-V it’s based on. The turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder has been dropped in favor of a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that produces 33 more horsepower for a total of 273. The five-speed automatic and “Super Handling All-Wheel-Drive” system (SH-AWD) have been replaced with a new six-speed automatic and smpler “Real Time AWD with Intelligent Control” system that made its debut on the 2012 CR-V. Despite the bigger engine, Acura claims the RDX will boast best in class fuel economy among non-hybrid, gasoline-powered luxury SUVs at 20 mpg city/28 city/highway mpg ratings in its front-wheel-drive form (up from 19/24).
