London-based Prindiville Design, today, unveiled its new Limited Edition Land Rover Defender. The Limited Edition Land Rover Defender by Prindiville Design is based on the latest Defender 90 Hard Top model. It will be limited to 25 examples globally.

Prindiville Design will modify each Limited Edition Land Rover Defender to offer "a superior level of comfort and practicality" while letting buyers customize the SUV to their individual taste.

Each car will be hand-assembled to the customer's interior and exterior specifications by Prindiville's engineers at its UK manufacturing plant, near Silverstone. Suspension, braking, cooling and engine upgrades will be done by Alive Tuning of Lincolnshire. Power upgrades come in four stages. Each will build on the 2.4-liter turbo-diesel's 122 horsepower all the way up to 190 horsepower. The engine is backed by a six-speed manual with a two-speed transfer case. Customers can upgrade to an automatic or tiptronic gearbox.

The top power upgrade includes a high flow intercooler, silicone hoses, and turbocharger, which helps the diesel crank out 339 lb-ft of torque. Prindiville claims the Limited Edition Land Rover Defender will be able to hit 0 to 60 mph (0 to 100km/h) in just 10 seconds. 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels hide custom six-piston calipers and sport discs and performance springs. Prindiville says the springs "allow greater vehicle speed and stability.

Customers will be able to choose from a paint palette that offers both matte and metallic finishes. Prindiville signature badge, a titanium high performance sports exhaust, chrome side protection runners, LED front and rear headlamps, and ribbed undershield are also added. Limited Edition Land Rover Defenders also receive rear parking sensors and cameras.

The custom interior is adorned in Italian leather. Sport seats come from Cobra and feature hand-stitched piping. The Limited Edition Land Rover Defender will also have a matching steering wheel and Alcantara carpet. The leather, carpets, and center storage console will feature customer-specified colors. An aluminum Prindiville dash plaque is included. The limited-edition Defender comes with a five-inch built-in LCD monitor with wireless internet, a DVD player, satellite navigation, 360-degree external vision, and surround sound from four speakers. It also comes with Bluetooth for connection to any mobile handset and MP3 players.

"The Limited Edition Land Rover Defender is a truly unique proposition in that it offers a more refined, quiet, and comfortable environment comparable to that of high-end 4x4s," said Alex Prindiville, Founder and Chief Designer of Prindiville Design, in a press release. "This is an uncompromised solution for either urban city driving or long-distance journeys. The significant interest which we have enjoyed to date will no doubt pave the way for further Land Rover or Range Rover customisations of a similar nature."

Prindiville Design is currently taking orders for the Limited Edition Land Rover Defender. Prices start at #52,000 or $81,500 (excluding import taxes and shipping).
