We first shared details of the updated 2013 Mercedes-Benz G-Class a week ago, including the return of the high-performance AMG variant, as well as some detail and equipment updates. Considering how relatively little has changed over the three decades the G-Wagen has been made, it might take a close look to see the changes.
But if you're a fan of Mercedes' beloved box on wheels, a few more glamor shots have been released, showing everything from the new "V8 Biturbo" fender badges on the AMG, its signature side-pipe dual exhausts, to more photos of its updated interior with the new-style four-spoke steering wheel, and an up-close shot of its iconic front, rear and center differential lock switches.
The G-Class' enduring non-conformity may make it as hip as Pabst Blue Ribbon to the urban black-rimmed glasses crowd, but its hipster friends had better be prepared to cough up a champagne-level budget for it. Official pricing has not yet been released for the 2013, but considering the lowest-priced 2012 model started above six figures, you can bet the new one will meet or surpass that price point.
