Much like the changes to the 2013 Sequoia, the 2013 Toyota Sienna drops its base motor -- in this case, the 2.7-liter I-4 -- and moves to an all V-6 lineup. While this move seems to fly in the face of the downsizing trend sweeping the automotive industry, there was little perceived benefit to the standard four-pot in the Sienna, which delivered about the same fuel economy as the V-6 with 84 fewer horsepower. The 2.7-liter engine is still available in the Venza crossover and the Highlander SUV.
Other changes for the 2013 Sienna include a standard three-zone climate control system for the LE trim and a standard blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert for the XLE and Limited trims. The up-level models also add an acoustic windshield for a quieter ride plus Toyota's Safety Connect telematics system with automatic collision notification, stolen vehicle location, and emergency and roadside assistance. The package includes a one year subscription to the service. Safety Connect is standard on the Limited and optional on the XLE trim.
Other changes across the Sienna lineup include the addition of chrome door handles on the sporty SE model, which remains the only Sienna model offered with factory 19-inch wheels.
