Due to the positive reception the Amarok Canyon concept received at the Geneva motor show, Volkswagen will offer a production version of the concept starting in the first quarter of 2013. The Amarok Canyon is based on the Trendline trim level, and will be offered with an exclusive Copper Orange color.

In addition to its bold paint job, the Amarok Canyon will be offered with an available light bar with four off-road driving lights, darkened taillights, body-color underbody guards, and a contrasting black rear bumper and tubular bed rails. The Canyon edition will also be offered with 17-inch Roca-style alloy wheels on 245/70R17 all-terrain tires, with 18-inch wheels and all-season tires optional. After its introduction in 2013, the Canyon will be offered in Reflex Silver, Natural Grey, and Sand Beige, along with the option of a hard tonneau cover.

The interior of the Amarok Canyon features contrast orange stitching on the seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and two-tone seats featuring Moon Rock and Anthracite seating surface colors.

Mechanically, the Amarok Canyon retains the same running gear as other Amarok models, with two versions of the company's familiar 2.0-liter TDI turbodiesel, a 122-hp version with 250 lb-ft of torque, and a 163-hp version with 295 lb-ft.
