Love 'em or hate 'em, crossovers are here to stay, and judging by the number of crossover concepts we've seen lately, and know we'll be seeing soon, the trend doesn't look like its dying down any time soon. Subaru, already well known for its Outback and Forester models, will give a glimpse of its future direction of crossovers with the Viziv concept that will be unveiled at the 2013 Geneva motor show.
Firm details and specifics on the Viziv are sparse, but we expect safety will be a big theme of the concept, with Subaru saying the futuristic crossover concept will embody the brand's values of "Enjoyment and Peace of Mind." The name was coined as an interpretive portmanteau of "Vision for Innovation."
If the last few SUV and crossover concepts we've seen are anything to go by, there's a good chance the Viziv could feature some sort of hybrid powertrain. And since it's being debuted in Europe, if an internal-combustion engine is part of the motivation, there's a good chance it could be Subaru's boxer diesel.
The Viziv makes generous use of LEDs for its frontal lighting, and the grille design is vaguely reminiscent of the new Hyundai Santa Fe. Come back on March 5 for full details of Subaru's crossover concept.
