Toyota gave no details about the full-size truck's third-gen changes, but we can speculate that we will see new bodylines, a new front grille design, interior upgrades, and the possibility of new engine options.
The first-generation Tundra replaced the midsize T100 in 2000 and took home the title for
Motor Trend's Truck of the Year. When the second generation came out in mid-2007, Motor Trend liked it so much that it was given the
Truck of the Year title again for 2008. It has been nearly seven years since we first saw the current Tundra, which is offered in three grades, three cab styles, three wheelbase lengths, three bed lengths, and three engine choices.
It's going to be interesting to see if Toyota will continue with the same 3-3-3-3-3 philosophy for the next generation or if they cut back the offerings for the tighter, more competitive full-size truck market.
