Chrysler is recalling nearly 361,819 2009-2012 Ram 1500 trucks, 2009-2011 Dodge Dakotas, 2009 Chrysler Aspens, and 2009 Dodge Durangos for a loose pinion nut the rear axle. The pinion nut on certain vehicles assembled between the outlined dates listed below may loosen due to a lack of an adhesive patch. This could cause loss of vehicle control.
Chrysler will start notifying owners with affected vehicles in the beginning of March to have this issue corrected at their local dealer, free of charge. A pinion nut retainer will be installed to secure the pinion nut. Owners can contact Chrysler at 1-800-247-9753.
