BMW has issued a recall for 30,265 2007-2010 X5 SUVs for a possible brake power assist failure. The cause of the issue has been traced to a vacuum pump that may leak lubricating oil into the hose. This leak would lead to a loss of power-assist braking, eventually creating an increased stopping distance that could result in an accident.

BMW is sending notifications to owners starting this month to have their brake vacuum line replaced free of charge at the dealer. Owners can call BMW at 1-800-525-7417 for more information.

Vehicles Potentially Affected:

30,265 BMW X5 SUVs ranging in model year from 2007 to 2010 and built between September 12, 2006 and March 18, 2010.
