The idea of Class 8 trucks going fast may seem strange, unless you've been on a rural stretch of Interstate and have been passed by one going 90 mph, and to some, the idea of running these beasts in sanctioned motorsport competition is even stranger. But not to Mike Ryan and Gale Banks. The seasoned stunt driver and renowned diesel tuner extraordinaire have joined forces to build what promises to be one of the highlights of this year's Pikes Peak International Hillclimb.

Ryan's Class 8 Freightliner Cascadia will get the full Banks Power treatment with the installation of a Ram Air intake, Techni-Cooler, a compound supercharger/turbocharger, water-methanol injection, a Banks iQ performance tuning display and configurator, and a Banks Monster exhaust. Ryan is also sponsored by Top 1 Oil, which will be providing its Evolution-series full-synthetic motor oil specifically formulated for high performance diesel engines.

Ryan has been a stunt driver and coordinator in the entertainment industry since 1977, involved in the production of more than 500 feature films, including "The Italian Job" and "Training Day." You can see Ryan's truck, "Size Matters II" at trade shows around the country, and at the Pike's Peak Hillclimb on June 30, 2013.
