Mitsubishi announced pricing for the 2014 Outlander, which is expected to go on sale early this summer. Pricing will start at $23,820 including destination ($23,945 in Alaska and Hawaii) for the base ES. For the midgrade Outlander SE, the price starts at $24,620 ($24,745), which is $200 less than that of the comparable outgoing model. The SE comes with everything offered on the ES, plus 18-inch wheels, 6.1-inch touch screen CD/MP3 with HD Radio, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, FAST Key passive entry with pushbutton start, Mitsubishi's FUSE Handsfree Link System with a USB port, and more.
The topline Outlander GT will start at $28,620 ($28,745) -- that's $800 less than the outgoing GT. The GT is powered by a V-6, and adds features like Super All-Wheel Control, paddle shifters, Sirius XM satellite radio, HID headlamps, and wood-grain trim inside.
The new Outlander has been redesigned, with an upgraded interior and improved fuel efficiency. The company anticipates that the Outlander will be one of the most fuel-efficient 7-passenger crossovers on the market, with a manufacturer-estimated 31 mpg highway for the front-wheel-drive ES and SE. other changes for 2014 include an available electric power tailgate, plus new safety features like radar-based Adaptive Cruise Control and Forward Collision Mitigation, plus a camera-based Lane Departure Warning system.
