The Ford F-150 SVT Raptor needs no introduction. Since its debut in 2010, the Raptor has defined off-road capability, performance, and attitude in the half-ton segment. No other manufacturer has introduced any factory-built rival that comes close. Entering its fourth model year, the Raptor gets a new special edition for its final model year before the all-new 2015 Ford F-150 debuts. The Raptor may go on temporary hiatus for a year or two after the new model debuts, but we fully expect it to make a triumphant return on the new model eventually.
For now, the final edition of Ford's dune-running pickup gets a new Ruby Red Metallic exterior color, revised box-side graphics, and Brick Red seat bolsters with black inserts, and cloth honeycomb highlights. Additional interior upgrades include a new console top finish panel, center stack, and door panel accents. In addition to Ruby Red, the Raptor Special Edition will also be available in Tuxedo Black Metallic.
As before, the 2014 Raptor is powered by a 6.2-liter, 411-hp V-8 engine with 434 lb-ft of torque, mated exclusively to a six-speed automatic transmission. A front-mounted camera and Torsen limited-slip front differential were added in 2012, and beadlock-capable wheels became available in 2013. The 2014 Raptor Limited Edition will go on sale this fall.
