Fred Diaz, president and CEO of the Ram Truck brand since 2009 and of Chrysler de Mexico since 2011, is now working for Nissan. Now, he's been named to the newly formed position of divisional vice president, Nissan Sales and Marketing, Nissan U.S. In this role, he will report to Jose Munoz, senior vice president, Sales and Marketing, Customer Quality and Dealer Network Development, Nissan Americas.
With this new job, Diaz will oversee day-to-day operations of Nissan in the United States. This includes all fixed operations, sales, marketing, parts and service, and administration functions. This also means the Nissan Division team -- Marketing, Light Commercial Vehicle and Fleet, Parts and Service, and Regional Operations -- will report directly to him.
Says Munoz, "Fred Diaz is one of the most experienced, results-driven sales and marketing executives in our industry, and we are privileged to welcome him to Nissan. As Nissan Division continues to grow in the United States, we expect Fred to convey a fresh perspective to our dealers and the entire divisional operations team that he will now lead."
Diaz, who was with Chrysler for 24 years, began there as a trainee, and worked his way up to zone manager, then head of national sales and then was ultimately promoted as CEO of the Ram brand.
His extensive knowledge of the truck market could be reflected in the next several years of Nissan products. We had wondered what would happen with Nissan's Titan: We're sure Diaz, who was integral in the forming of the Ram Truck division, will have a big say in the issue.
In the meantime, rumor has it that the next CEO of Ram Truck is going to be Bob Hegbloom, who is currently Director of the Ram brand.
