Some cynics may have thought Universal's "Fast and Furious" franchise jumped the shark long ago, but this weekend's record-breaking box-office receipts prove the formula of fast cars, muscular men, and sexy women still holds as much appeal as it ever has.

This year's British-themed installment features such timeless favorites as the Jensen Interceptor, an early '70s Euro-spec Ford Escort tricked out with full rally livery, and an Aston Martin DB9, but Yankee muscle was well represented in the form of a late-model Dodge Challenger, a 1969 Ford Mustang, and a military-spec Navistar Defense MXT truck driven by character Luke Hobbs (played by Dwayne Johnson).

The MXT may not be fast, with a MaxxForce 6.0-liter turbodiesel V-8 producing 340 hp and 660 lb-ft of torque, tasked with hauling around a substantial 23,000 pounds, or about three Ford F-250 Super Dutys, but it's definitely furious, with an imposing height of 96 inches, and an equally intimidating 91 inch width. The MXT's 235-inch length is only about a foot longer than a Chevrolet Suburban, but with up to an 8500-lb payload and 42-inch water-fording capability, the MXT is built to take on whatever action movie producers or field combat may throw its way.
