Product placement and co-branding in Hollywood is nothing new, but companies that used to be low-key about their collaborations and partnerships are now openly discussing and promoting them. And what better franchise or theme to align yourself with than Superman? That's exactly what Ram is doing in its collaboration with Warner Bros. on the new "Man of Steel" modern-day Superman revival. The promotional campaign kicks off with a 30-second TV spot ,"Action," featuring scenes from the movie, and clips of Ram trucks from commercials.
In addition to the TV ads, the co-promotion includes print ads that will run through the July 4 weekend and will debut in the June 7 weekend edition of USA Today.
In addition to the TV spot featuring the Ram 1500, a customized Ram 2500 Power Wagon will debut at the film's June 10th premiere in New York City, appear at the National Finals Rodeo and State Fair of Texas, and be ultimately sold at a charity auction. The special-edition Power Wagon features a high-gloss black roof, red anodized grille accents, satin black forged 17-inch off-road wheels, Superman logos on the grille, tailgate, seats, and console, and red anodized interior trim accents on the doors, steering column, radio cluster, and seats.
