Watching the commercials for full-size trucks, the only things you'd think these mechanical beasts of burden ever do is splash through creeks, haul loads of rocks, machinery, and trailers stacked with concrete tunnel sections or power equipment, driven by guys with that perfect pair of pecs, washboard abs, and an authentically scruffy five o'clock shadow. Well, the five o'clock shadow may be accurate, but the rest of the scenarios represent just a fraction of what trucks do in the day-to-day grind.
A popular task for full-size trucks, either voluntarily or unwittingly, is to be a handy helpmate on moving day. For this mundane and dreaded task, Detroit-native comic Owen Weber made a spoof of Ram Trucks'
video for their full-size trucks, with some hilarious and oh-so-true voiceover describing the all-too-familiar scenarios of moving "rusty metal futons, massive wooden dressers, and stained mattresses." And let's not forget "an old TV the size of an oven, a bunch of books that will never be read, and a La-Z-Boy recliner covered in pet hair."
Weber delivers the tough-guy monologue with an appropriate blue collar twang, giving the clip that extra dose of rugged cred. Weber's new tagline for the Ram brand
is "Ram…for all the Haulin' You May or May Not Want To Do." Check out the hilarious clip below.
