Vehicle recalls can range from massive to minor, and in the greater scheme of recalls, these two are minor, affecting fewer than 1000 units each of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra and 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. This is the first official recall on the just launched 2014 Silverado and Sierra 1500.

The recall on the Silverado and Sierra affects only 843 2014 Silverado and Sierra 1500 Crew Cab models. The pickups may have airbags that won't fully inflate in a crash. Less than 1 percent of potentially affected vehicles are believed to have a faulty airbag, but GM is contacting each owner individually.

Mitsubishi is recalling 305 2013 Outlander Sport models built January 17-25, 2013 for an improperly welded front stabilizer link. The link could detach and cause damage to the front tire or brake line, resulting in an increased risk of a crash. Mitsubishi will contact owners and inspect and, if necessary, repair the left front strut assembly. Owners can contact Mitsubishi at 800-222-0037, or NHTSA's Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236. Mitsubishi issued a recall earlier this month for faulty panoramic glass sunroofs on 2011 Outlander Sport models. More than 3000 units were affected in that recall campaign.
