What is more American than the road trip? Okay, there's one thing -- Jeep. That iconic brand is celebrating the American road trip with its "30 Miles of Freedom." Jeep is reaching out, via online and social media channels. This focuses on the Jeep Compass and Patriot, both of which get up to 30 mpg on the highway. This is a two-phase competition that launched online at www.jeep.com/en/live/30-miles-of-freedom/ and will finish up in early December 2013. The result: Two people will have the chance to win either a new 2014 Jeep Compass or a 2014 Jeep Patriot.
"'30 Miles of Freedom' embraces the time-honored tradition of the American road trip, celebrating the freedom of the open road while extolling the virtues of finding adventure," said Mike Manley, president and CEO Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. "The Jeep Compass and Jeep Patriot are perfectly suited to journeys near or far as two of the most capable compact SUVs in the market with fuel economy ratings of up to 30 mpg."
The contest has already begun, but if you visit www.jeep.com/en/live/30-miles-of-freedom/, you can submit your idea of the perfect 30-mile road trip with a Jeep Compass or Patriot. It can't be any longer than 30 miles from start to finish, and it must take place in the continental United States. Six finalists will be announced October 7, and there will be three for the Compass and three for Patriot. Those people continue on to the second phase, where each of them will take a Compass or Patriot on the road trip they described when they submitted their idea. Each road trip will be filmed and posted on www.jeep.com/en/live/30-miles-of-freedom/, where fans can go to vote for their favorite road trip. Voters can have their say from November 25 through December 7, and Jeep will announce the two vehicle winners in early December.
