Before Lincoln reveals the new Lincoln MKX concept at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show, the automaker has released a teaser video previewing the show car. The video shows the Lincoln MKX concept being sketched out on the drawing board, revealing an overall shape that looks similar to the current Lincoln MKX and slightly rounder than the 2015 Navigator.
In the video, the sketch artist is seen drawing out the concept’s front end, and as the camera pans over the drawing board, we can see that the concept's been given prominent character lines on the side body panels. The artist then continues to work on the car's headlights, which appear to be HID projector lamps. We then get a really good look at the concept when real life shots of it are shown. Painted in an orange-gold color, the concept boasts the automaker’s familiar split-wing grille with lots of chrome, cool orange LED light strips in the headlight units and on the side mirrors, and LED taillights.
The concept will be unveiled this week in Beijing, and the production version will likely go on sale in China in the near future. Lincoln has huge plans for China, as it has announced its plans to launch five new vehicles there by 2016. Starting this fall, the automaker will launch the MKZ and MKC, followed by a midsize luxury SUV, all-new full-size luxury sedan, and the full-size Lincoln Navigator.
