Mercedes-Benz and Sprinter are two iconic brands that have a great deal of reverence in their respective markets for making high-quality premium products. So it was only natural for the two companies to join forces on a new executive van project to be sold exclusively through Mercedes-Benz Sprinter dealers. The 2015 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Airstream Autobahn combines the latest in entertainment and communication technologies to provide the ultimate mobile office and entertainment experience.
The interior of the Autobahn features premium wood and leather surfaces, dual refrigerators, and multiple entertainment options, including a 32-inch flatscreen TV, Blu-ray player, and Apple TV—all operated via the Airstream Smart Control app, which allows users to control all lighting, privacy, climate, and entertainment options through their computer, tablet, or mobile device.
Each seating position in the rear passenger area includes a power footrest, heated seats, power outlets (including USB ports), and a desk. Features built in to the Sprinter include collision prevention assist, front and rear parking assist, automatic headlight high beams, and more.
Premium vans have become more popular as the Panther-platform Lincoln Town Car has gone out of production, giving executives on the go more space and technology options. However, with a starting price of more than $50,000 before any modifications or customization, Sprinters are not an inconsequential investment. Be prepared to step up into S-Class pricing territory for the Autobahn at $137,800.
