Diesel engines have several problems- high cost of repair, noise and short lifetime.

High mpg (even good while towing), last hundreds of thousands of miles, quieter than ever, a torque curve as long and flat as the Great Plains... Yeah, what problems.

@Michal Really the only issue is the cost it adds to the purchase price of the vehicle. I get it that they are more expensive to produce. But they can't be that surprised to see a low take rate when the net price of choosing the diesel is over 10k vs a Laredo. Not everyone wants or needs the high end trim packages.
