Airstream built its name and reputation on its ultralight, aluminum-bodied travel trailers, which still comprise a major part of the brand’s business. But today, Airstream’s offerings include many motorhome models. Befitting the upscale positioning of the brand, the company has selected the proven Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis for its Interstate models. The latest addition to the family is the Interstate Grand Tour.
The Grand Tour is the most luxurious Interstate model made to date, featuring a larger galley kitchen area with an oversize refrigerator and freezer, a flexible workspace desk, an expanded bathroom area, a standard power awning, and available dual-screen doors. Other premium features include durable Corian countertops, LED interior lighting, a Kenwood multimedia entertainment system, and dual LED televisions. The Grand Tour is designed to be the perfect travel companion for couples living life on the road.
All Airstream Interstate motorhomes include membership in the Mercedes-Benz Club of America and retain all the safety features of the Sprinter, including Xenon headlights, six airbags, lane-keeping assist, collision-prevention systems, and parking assist features. All interstate models are powered by Mercedes’ fuel-efficient 3.0L turbodiesel V-6 engine. The Interstate Grand Tour will be available in Airstream dealerships in September 2014 starting at $150,436.
