The folks at Land Rover have released a new space-themed video that reveals the new 2015 Discovery Sport compact SUV will have seating for up to seven passengers. The flexible 5-plus-2–seating layout with sliding and reclining 2nd row seats is a first in the compact luxury SUV category. Other details disclosed in the video include a high-tech navigation system with a display looks like something from the TV show Person of Interest and a full panoramic moonroof with an opening that extends beyond the 2nd row of seats.
The new Discovery Sport is being introduced on the 25th anniversary of the original full-size Discovery and is slated to replace the Land Rover LR2. The Discovery Sport was inspired by the Discovery Vision concept, and a partnership with Virgin Galactic (the company that’s planning civilian trips to space) is showcased in the zero-gravity–themed video. The global reveal of the all-new 2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport will happen September 3 at 7:01 p.m. ET.
