The Nissan NV is tough. It's tough enough to endure more than 6600 tests, and as part of a new campaign titled "Tough Love," we get to see the NV undergo just a handful of those tests, all while having rock star Bret Michaels sing to it and even dedicate a music video to it.
The new campaign centers around the theme "the tougher we test them, the more you love them," which explains why Michaels sings one of his more popular songs from the '80s, "Endless Love," to the NV. In the music video, Michaels lovingly sings to the NV while it's being put to the test at Nissan's testing ground in Stanfield, Ariz. There are some pretty funny innuendos in the video, such as when Michaels sings to the >van while it's being tested on the shaker machine, and then another time when the rock star is holding a jackhammer. Other tests we see the NV undergo include the frame twist, the 140-degree heat chamber, and the salt spray room. Like most videos from the '80s, this one also doesn't do without fire and smoke.
In addition to the music video, the rock star also filmed six product demonstrations for the NV in which he goes into a bit more detail about some of the tests all Nissan commercial vans have to perform. At the end of each video, the automaker also emphasizes the new warranty for Nissan commercial vehicles, which is now 5 years/10,000 miles.
Watch the NV take center stage in its very own music video below.
