5.0 are more economic that a 6 cylinder ecoboost so put that turbo on 5.0 and make 5.0 ecoboost

I can't understand why put a tiny engine in a big truck. If it was the Ranger no problem. But f150? If true time will tell

Sadly not!!!!... I'm not convinced!!!

No cause my tundra has a big 4 cyl gets better than f150

Yes of course. When you can save fuel. My toyota v6 can put out 146hp and use half the fuel of a v8. V8's a thing that need to go to museums so we can better educate our younger generation.

3.5L EcoBoost gets worse MPG than the V8s. Little engines with tiny MPG cams have to try way 2 hard to move around trucks.

NO! Smaller motor in heavier truck, just doesn't make sense. Turbo the heck out of it and in the end you will have a boat anchor. Too many people will not operate a turbo charged engine properly allowing for proper cool down after being worked hard and that will lead to catastrophic failure of the turbo. Once that is done, the motor is useless in a truck!

What is the point, no pulling power and if a turbo works to hard its going to blow up. I deliver Ford parts for part of my job and I deliver a turbo to a dealership at least once a week or even more. If you're the type of person that likes to keep your vehicle more than 5 years than you better get a regular V8 in your Found On Road Dead truck

I'd take a 3.5 it's got as much torque as my first gen cummins.

As much as I love my ford trucks, I wouldn't have bought any of them if they had 3 cylinders... This may just be a step too far in the wrong direction...

I wouldn't. ....don't care for any of the ECO engines

2.7L I don't care how many turbos you put on it, it Doesn't belong in a truck...then again a 150 isn't a real truck anyway. Ford was good at small turbo motors too, look at the 2.3L turbo, that's a fine motor with plenty of power and it's just about bomb proof. It's just not a truck engine.

There is no replacement for displacement. Hp is one thing but trucks need torque unless it's a pavement princess.

Austin Tyler Williams you must have been at a Honda dealership, no ford salesman would say that about something he wants to sell. The 3.5 ecoboost is a powerful engine even if it doesn't get the mpg's better than a v8, it pulls like a small diesel.

Fords have a successful history of engine fires, so beware of dumping on GM if your a Ford Fan..as For the eco bomb, too little displacement for truck applications. I love the new 50 engine and pleased tritons are no more, thiers some potential for me to come back to the 2015 f150

300hp... Sure why not? Plenty of power for most people that just need a very basic truck.

With the exception of the Coyote, Furd doesn't make an engine I would buy. The mod engines were absolute junk.

Brent frick, yea but your 5.3 catches on fire an has to shut off Half the engine

I wouldn't even buy a domestic truck. Too many auto workers are alcoholic potheads. Oh yeah, and they're lazy.

My chevy 5.3 liter gets better gas than the v6 ecoboost

Austin Tyler Williams

Lol, no. My family was about to buy an EcoBoost Explorer and the salesman told us to stay away from anything EcoBoost because their motors can't handle the turbo pressure so they blow.

Jason Blank
Jason Blank

No way. It's a truck and the low end torque would suck.
