Probably at least once in our lives, we've all experienced running out of gas at an inopportune moment. For this writer, it was on La Cienega Boulevard in Los Angeles in the middle of rush hour. To say it wasn't fun is an understatement. Typically, if you're lucky enough to have friends with you, or helpful and good-hearted strangers, it involves pushing said vehicle to nearest safe place off the road or to the nearest gas station.

But when you've got a big truck with a fully operational excavator on the back, it becomes a question of being innovative and using what you've got to get where you need to go. We found this YouTube video posted by presumably Russian user "kwirls" showing the driver of a truck hauling a Hyundai excavator (bet you didn't know Hyundai made heavy equipment!) firing up said machine to propel himself and his truck down the road. While there's clearly an operator in the excavator, its unknown if there's anyone in the cab of the truck. If it was a one-man operation, presumably he locked the steering wheel in the center position, went out back, fired up the excavator, and shoved himself down the road.

A few sharp-eyed commenters said the numbers and characters on the license plates of passing cars suggest this video was actually recorded somewhere in Turkey. Who knows, maybe Richard Dean Anderson has fallen on hard times and has gone to work doing earth excavation in Turkey. If so, he still hasn't lost that "MacGyver" touch.
